about
This song is about love, longing and death. You know, fun stuff like that.
Seriously though, this song actually pre-dates the Dubnicks stuff and had been recorded a few times over the years, but never released.
It's actually one of the better songs I've written I believe. It even won me the Marilyn & Alan Bergman ASCAP Scholarship Award at Berklee College Of Music one year.
Not sure why I never released it, but figured I'd do so now. Hope you like it and, if you really dig it, do me a solid and just buy the song - it helps!
lyrics
Lyrics:
--------
I breathe you in like a cigarette
You smell so good but you taste like death
And yours is a cancer I can't live without
So I put my head in your guillotine
Intoxicated by your nicotine-like smile
I'm addicted beyond a shadow of a doubt...
How do you sleep?
Knowing I can hardly breath when you're around
My heart is rendered void of sound and I can't help
but think that maybe you don't see how your face
...is killing me.
Killing me...
Killing me...
Killing me.
I know it's all just smoke and mirrors
Guess I've fallen in love with your glossy veneer but
Digging any deeper would only bring me down.
So I'll see you as the perfect girl
From a distance far enough to blur my vision
And keep me wishing I was six feet under ground..
How do you sleep?
Knowing I can hardly breath when you're around
My heart is rendered void of sound and I can't help
but think that maybe you don't see how your face
...is killing me.
Killing me...
Killing me...
Killing me.
